Internship (m/w/d) – Hedge Fund / Operational Due Diligence

YOUR MISSION

The Operational Due Diligence (ODD) Team is part of the Absolute Return business at Prime Capital that manages the Fund of Hedge Fund portfolios. As an integral part of the investment process ODD is responsible for the initial assessment and ongoing monitoring of the Governance, Operations, Risk-Management, Valuation, IT/Cybersecurity and Compliance frameworks of hedge funds and hedge fund management firms. As an ODD intern you will have the opportunity gain deep insights into the business management and operations of a broad set of hedge fund managers around the world. The ODD team works solely in English and regularly travels internationally for due diligence meetings with hedge fund managers.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supporting the operational due diligence team in performing due diligence assessments of hedge funds as part of the initial evaluation and ongoing monitoring.
  • Evaluating the business management frameworks of hedge funds and hedge fund managers, including Governance, Operations, Risk-Management, Valuation, IT/Cybersecurity and Compliance.
  • Preparing and participating in meetings with senior business management personnel from hedge fund management firms, service providers and fund directors.
  • Contributing to internal initial evaluation reports and updating assessment reports, including assessments of operational risk, liquidity risk and counterparty credit risks.
  • Performing ongoing monitoring of hedge fund managers through due diligence questionnaires, document reviews and monitoring of publicly available disclosures.
  • Development of internal processes and documents for the operational due diligence team.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Currently pursuing a Master’s degree or in the final year of a Bachelor’s program in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Understanding of the financial industry, capital markets and participants is an asset.
  • Initial experience in bank audit, risk-management or risk advisory is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are a must.
  • High level of curiosity and interest in the hedge fund industry.
  • Availability for at least 3 months with the possibility to transition into a working student role.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, PowerBi and PowerPoint.
  • Proactive drive and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment, while also showcasing strong teamwork skills.
